Understanding the Difference between Global Tracker and SuperPrivacy Tracker
Updated over 2 months ago

In Sealmetrics, we offer two unique tracking options designed to prioritize user privacy while providing actionable insights: GlobalTracker and SuperPrivacyTracker. Both serve distinct purposes, catering to different tracking needs based on the level of anonymity and performance required.

SuperPrivacy Tracker: Maximum Anonymity, Unmatched Speed

SuperPrivacy Tracker is ideal for those who need the highest level of privacy. This tracker measures each interaction on your website as individual, disconnected "hits." In practice, this means that if 7 users visit your website and each views 5, 7, or even 10 pages, our system will record each page view separately, with no connection between them.

There is no way to track which user viewed which pages, ensuring complete anonymity. This approach prevents the formation of customer journeys or user-specific patterns by design. It also enables maximum processing speed, as there is no data-intensive tracking of user paths or behaviors.

Global

Tracker: Individualized Tracking with Privacy in Mind

GlobalTracker, on the other hand, offers a more personalized tracking approach without compromising user privacy. Using minimal data, GlobalTracker can follow the sequence of hits associated with a single user session, allowing for individualized measurement without future or identifiable profiling.

Although GlobalTracker doesn’t allow user identification in any way, it does enable you to view each user’s interactions as a unique series of events. This approach gives more insight than SuperPrivacy Tracker, as you can follow an individual session to understand a user’s path on your site while still respecting their privacy.

Choosing the Right Tracker for Your Needs

  • Choose SuperPrivacyTracker if maximum anonymity and speed are priorities. This option provides a highly private, secure tracking method without user paths or identifiable connections between page views.

We recommend SuperPrivacyTracker for healthcare companies and government organizations.

  • Choose GlobalTracker if you need some level of individualized tracking to understand session-based behaviors, all while maintaining strict user privacy standards.

This option is ideal for 98% of websites.

Both trackers provide essential data in a privacy-first manner, allowing you to gain insights while respecting the online privacy of every visitor.
